Straight Spouses and Their Families

Legal Assistance

Legal issues probably feel beyond you right now.
You dont have to make instant decisions about anything.
Just know theres legal help available to you if you need it.
Youll want to get a referral to a family lawyer who has experience dealing with gender orientation issues.

See the website of the San Francisco Bar Association.
Spend a few minutes with About and with Programs & Services.
On the second Saturday of each month at 10 am at the San Francisco Public Library (Main) you can sign up to see an attorney at the clinic the Bar Association operates there.

You will also want to look at the website of the Family Law Self Help Center & Office of the Family Law Facilitator which is part of the Superior Court of California, County of San Francisco.

The issues you can get help with there are on the page, as well as the hours the services are available.

With the support of others like yourself, you can do whatever is necessary. Talk to friends. Use the phone. See our Peer Support page. Let us hear from you.
